A trek to remember

On 11 November nine intrepid trekkers and two guides covered 18 kilometres through the Snowy Mountains to raise money for Rough Edges.

Paul Bramble, one of our Urban Guides and Matt Paterson, our Chaplain represented Rough Edges, along with a mix of new and existing supporters. It was the first time we embarked on an “Inspired Adventure” and we were pleased that the participants raised $16,000 for the work of Rough Edges.

Paul is perhaps more accustomed to shorter “treks” on the streets of Darlinghurst and Kings Cross when sharing his story, but he proved to be quite the fundraiser by raising more than $5,000 on his page. He also used his personal connection with the Governor General David Hurley, to organise a morning tea at Government House on the Friday morning for all the participants on their way to the Snowy Mountains!

Thank you to everyone who participated and made this a special inaugural fundraising event for Rough Edges. We hope it is memory you will all treasure.
